Oversized Sweater

Wednesday, November 30, 2016

I love a good over-sized sweater. They are so cozy and effortlessly chic. This one from Target has become one of my favorite sweaters this season. The neutral tone makes it easy to style and the over-size fit makes it the perfect sweater for leggings. Which, is my go-to outfit on most chilly days in the fall or winter! P.S - This sweater is under $30 and currently 40% Off at checkout
It's not linking for some reason, but I'll keep trying and add the direct link when I can!

Has anyone started decorating for Christmas? I started on Sunday and finished up yesterday. Christmas is seriously my favorite time of year. Our home becomes even more cozy than usual and brings me so much joy. Like, as soon as I walk in the door, I light up all the trees haha

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

#WeddingWednesday - Photography

Wednesday, November 23, 2016

Hey loves and happy Thanksgiving eve, haha!
Today, I am back with another Wedding post! I'll be sharing our photographer with you all and how I ended up picking them.

So, of course one of the first things I started doing after Ben proposed was research photographers. I wanted to get an idea of prices and different photography styles. I became quickly overwhelmed by the amount of photographers in the area and the pricing of wedding packages. Photography can get very expensive and Ben and I have a set budget because we are helping to pay for Photography.

After a few weeks of stressing out because I wasn't able to find someone within our budget, I was approached by Irresistible Portraits. We set up a consultation to review packages and talk more in-depth about what I wanted for our big day and we just hit it off immediately! If you read my venue post, then you know I am all about the feels. I have to feel a connection before I make a decision. When sitting and talking with Karen, Jess and Leah, I felt a connection. They understood where I wanted to go with our wedding photography and we were able to put together a package that was within Ben and I's budget! They're so, so awesome.

Irresistible Portraits studio has so much to offer! They have indoor sets as well as outdoor sets. I literally could shoot so many blog outfits around their studio. All the sets are beautiful. They have the front of their studio decked out for Christmas photos and it's insanely gorgeous!

This past weekend Ben and I had our engagement session. We had such a fun time taking pictures together! We had an hour and a half session and shot two-looks. One casual and one more fitted to our wedding theme which is The Great Gatsby. We were running about 10-15 minutes late that day, no surprise to those who truly know me, I am always late! So, we lost a good amount of time and we had to rush a bit to get all the shots, but we did it! I also about had a meltdown because I forget Ben's button down for his second look. But, we ended up making it work!

When we arrived for pictures we were walked back to a separate room to place our things. This is where we changed looks and the room was so inviting. Brightly colored and they even had a cute welcome sign for us!

Overall, we are very excited to be working with Irresistible Portraits. They have been in business for 26 years now and have so much to offer including; weddings, family portraits, even dog portraits! They work with the humane society and photograph pups who need a good home. How awesome is that? If you're looking for a good quality photographer that is budget friendly I highly recommend Irresistible Portraits

I have a little surprise for you!
I was sent some sneak peeks of our shoot this weekend and I cannot wait to go pick out our favorites! I'll have a separate post on what to wear for engagement photos later on.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

OBX Recap || Blogger Getaway

Friday, November 18, 2016

So, a few weekends ago myself and a few other bloggers; Grace, Courtney and Morgan, went on a little blogger getaway to the Outer Banks for the weekend and stayed in the beautiful house above perfectly named Southern Belle. The Outer Banks is one of my absolute favorite places in this world. My family as well as Ben's family vacation here every summer. The cool thing about this trip was that I experienced things I've done before. Literally, checked so many things off my bucket list!

Day One:
On this first morning we woke up bright and early to hang glide. Yes, hang gliding. I was a little skeptical to be honest because I really didn't know what to expect. But, once we arrived at Kitty Hawk Kites and watch a few videos as well as talk to the instructors a bit, I was ready to go! The instructors help to guide us down the dunes to a safe landing. Hang gliding was SO fun and I highly recommend this activity while vacationing at the Outer Banks.
P.S - Make sure to wear comfy clothes! I wore a long sleeve tee and leggings and was so happy with my choice of comfort clothing!

A little snap of us on the way to hang glide!

After hang gliding we went to lunch at Tortugas Lie. This was one of my favorite meals while on the trip! So, so delicious and I love the local, beachy feel of the restaurant. Not to mention the bright colors that were everywhere! Such a great spot to grab lunch and feel like one of the locals!

After lunch we shopped around at some local shops and checked out Real Watersports! They have so much to offer here. You can learn how to kite board, surf and even rent jet skis. The atmosphere was incredible! When we got back to the house, Outer Beaches Reality surprised us the best hospitality. They came to welcome us and brought wine along with some delicious hors d'oeuvres to enjoy before dinner!

That evening we went to Cafe Pamlico for dinner. This was another favorite meal of mine along with the restaurant itself. This would be perfect for more of an "adult" evening while vacationing. Not to mention their drink selection was on point! So, delicious. The above picture is one of the amazing views from the restaurant.

Day Two:
On the second day we woke up bright and early once again to go horse back riding on the beach with Equine Adventures. This was my absolute favorite activity while at OBX. I had never ridden a horse before, so I was incredibly excited that my first time was going to be on the beach! The instructors were great and they match you up with horses that fit your experience level. My horse's name was Bob and he was the sweetest boy. I believe he was a former race horse which was funny because he was so laid back. Highly recommend Equine Adventures for your horseback riding experience!

After horseback riding, we grabbed burgers at the Bros Sandwich Shack. I love me a good burger and fries and all of it was delicious. Then it was off to spa day at Koru Village. I got the silver fern massage and it was simply amazing. Perfect after just riding a horse for 2 hours!

Later that evening before dinner we stopped at another fabulous beach house called the Sunset Serenade. The name speaks for itself and the view was breathtaking. We got to take in the beautiful sunset and really appreciate all the beauty that was before us. I'll say it again, it was breathtaking.

After this trip, I have a new found love and appreciation for sunrises and sunsets. Once we were done taking in that incredible view, we headed to dinner at Pangea Tavern. I really enjoyed the casual atmosphere and the food was amazing!

Last Morning:
The day we left, we woke up finished packing and cleaning the house and we headed to breakfast at The Dunes before heading home. Perfect breakfast spot and they have the cutest little shop in the front with all kinds of things! It was sad leaving, but we all had the most incredible time and made the best memories!

I would like to thank Martin and Outer Beaches Reality for your generosity and amazing hospitality. All of us girls had the best time and can't thank you all enough!

#WeddingWednesday - Engagement Party

Wednesday, November 16, 2016

Happy Wednesday!
Today, I am back with another #WeddingWednesday post, sharing a little about our engagement party and what we wore!

So, the weekend before last was our engagement party and I am still over the moon with how much joy and love was present. We had our families and a few of our closest friends there to celebrate! It was such a magical night. There was great food, good drinks and lots of laughs and conversation.

The party was held at my grandparents club house. Some of our family members helped and made some amazing hors d'oeuvres and desserts. Which was awesome of them and saved us a lot of money in the end! We provided wine and beer, which worked out great! After most of the guest arrived and mingled for a bit, we gathered for toast! This was my favorite part of the evening. Having our family and friends come up and tell old stories and share their happiness for us was so incredible. I cannot thank them enough for their continued support and love they have shown Ben and I over the past eight years.

It was more of a dressy event, so Benjamin busted out his suit and I wore this adorable champagne jumpsuit. It was so beautiful for the evening and would be perfect for the holidays!

All Black Everything

Monday, November 7, 2016

If there is one outfit combo that I love to wear during the fall, it's an all black one. There is something so chic and edgy about an all black outfit, perfect for a night out on the town.

I wore this to dinner in the Outer Banks one evening. The outfit was great for the atmosphere of the restaurant which was more dressy and perfect for a date night. I'll go into more detail about the restaurant in Friday's OBX recap post! So, stayed tuned!
